Question: Why do we say Allah Hafiz?

Until about 10 years ago Khuda hafiz, which means God protect you, was the phrase commonly used to say goodbye. But, in the past decade, Khuda hafiz began to be overtaken by a new term Allah hafiz. Now, Allah hafiz is used by everyone from religious clerics to fashion models and the countrys top TV anchors.

What does Allah Hafiz mean?

It also means god. Allah is an Arabic word and is made up of al, which means the, and ilah, which means that which is worshipped. This dictionarys first volume (1977) shows that phrase Allah Hafiz may have two shades of meanings: “Good bye” and “may God protect”.

What is Allahs real name?

The Quran refers to Allah as the Lord of the Worlds. Unlike the biblical Yahweh (sometimes misread as Jehovah), he has no personal name, and his traditional 99 names are really epithets. These include the Creator, the King, the Almighty, and the All-Seer.
